Experimental Study on Dynamic Bond Properties Between Reinforcing Steel Bar and Concrete
Abstract
Using electro-hydraulic servo-controlled testing system, the effects of loading rate on the bond properties between reinforcing steel bar and concrete were investigated. Type and diameter of steel, concrete strength, loading rate and bond length were considered in this experiment. The test result shows that loading rate has effects on the bond properties between reinforcing steel bar and concrete. When the loading rate increases, the bond strength increases, and the failure mode for the specimens with deformed steel bar changes.
