The Construction of Smart Growth Assessment System

Abstract


In recent years, smart growth has become increasingly important in the process of building sustainable cities. In this paper, we construct Smart Growth Assessment (SGA) model to evaluate the success of smart growth indicating by Smart Growth Index (SGI). Considering Economically prosperous, socially Equitable, Environmentally Sustainable and ten principles of smart growth, we find eleven factors having impacts on the smart growth of a city. We use AHP to allocate weights to different factors. After getting the weight vector, we use Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method to calculate SGI, which indicates the success of smart growth of a city.
