Research on Career Development of Women in Universities-Based on the Investigation and Analysis of Female Teachers in Colleges and Universities in FuJian Province

Abstract

With the further development of higher education, the number and proportion of women intellectuals in universities is increasing and they have been important human resources to universities. However, for a long time, women’s status in universities has always been low in China. This study attempts to explore and explain this phenomenon through surveys and interviews with female teachers in universities in FuJian Province. The objectives are to explore the current situation of career development of women in universities, find out the possible reasons and hopefully to give some advice.
