Analysis of the Effect of University-level Teaching Competition Mechanism on Novice English Teacher Development

Abstract


Teaching competition plays an important role in improving novice teachers’ teaching ability, strengthening the construction of teacher development, promoting teaching methods and advancing the quality of teaching as well. Teaching ability and teaching level directly decide the quality of teaching as a whole in colleges and universities. This paper has conducted a research and investigation on four university-level teaching competitions of young and middle-aged teachers in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, South China Business College, which aims at exploring the effect of teaching competition mechanism on the development of novice college English teachers.
