Comparison of Body Language in Cross-cultural Communication

Abstract

Body language plays an important role in intercultural communication. However, there are more obstacles caused by the differences of language and culture. In intercultural communication, the most effective way to deal with the obstacles is to master the meanings and characteristics of body language. This thesis makes a comparison of characteristics and applications of body language in different cultures by comparison method, acquiring the approaches of reducing barriers in intercultural communication. Its aim is to help people communicate effectively in cross-cultural communication and avoid misunderstandings.
