On Diesterweg’s Ideas of Education
Abstract
Diesterweg, a democratic German educator in the 19th century, had great influence on German education with his ideas and practices. This essay mainly addresses his ideas of education which are mainly as follows: education is for all; everyone is equal and can be educated; and education is to cultivate all-round development and healthy personality of students.
