Oscillation Mode Information Identification of Power System Based on Daily Small Disturbances
Abstract
A large number of disturbances of power mutations of units or load exist in power system in daily operation, which may inspire the grid interval mode oscillations within a narrow range. Some units’ power-angle and power dynamic measurement include part of oscillation information which can be identified by using appropriate identification methods to forewarn and preventively control low frequency oscillation. This paper chose common methods, Prony and ARMA, to identify and analyze the oscillation information, based on the characteristics of slight oscillation of power system due to small disturbance, comparing noise immunity of the two algorithms in varied noise disturbance situations. Then it compares the feasibility of the two algorithms in conspicuous and inconspicuous oscillation cases according to WAMS measured data of actual grid.
