Impedance Modeling and Stability Analysis of Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators
Abstract
Sub-synchronous oscillation (SSO) problems exist in wind power gathering areas as northwest China. To make clear mechanism of SSO induced by large capacity direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generators (D-PMSG), linear impedance model of grid side converter (GSC) is built and verified by simulation. Closed-loop transfer functions are deduced, and stability of D-PMSG connected to weak network, together with the influencing factors, are analyzed by impedance method, which helps to analyze and solve SSO problems in wind farms.
