Abstract

In this paper, corn cob biomass waste burning power station with organic Rankine cycle (ORC) has been studied. Two typical organic fluids with sufficiently low critical parameters were selected as candidate working fluids in the plant to study the theoretic electricity power and thermal efficiency of the system. With the same parameters (i.e., the heat source temperature and flow rate are fixed), the theoretic turbine power and thermal efficiency of R245fa are more than R123’s. The results show that corn cob burning heat is potential to be utilized as electricity generation heat source for rural society.
