Study on the Thermal Generation and Transmission of Lithium Battery
Abstract
Indicators of lithium battery are more advantageous than that of other batteries including energy density, power density and safety characteristic. Considering the significance of heat to battery, the process of heat generating is described in detail by formula derivation. Correspondingly, behavior of lithium battery under different operating conditions is simulated and shown in this study. In order to verify the rationality of computing results, concerned experiments have been finished. In addition, the difference between simulations and test data is investigated, and the means to prolong the span life of lithium battery are expressed at the end of this study. Briefly, heat generating during the electric vehicle driving is inevitable, and some measures to cool the battery pack are essential, especially using liquid.
