Research on Measuring Method of Object Volume
Abstract
This article discusses two methods in measuring the volume, including binocular measurement and monocular measurement with a linear laser. The former firstly calibrates the camera parameters, through image extraction and matching, gets the object space coordinates and volume. However, this method has low real-time and huge calculation, it’s also susceptible to physical texture properties of the object. The later uses a linear laser to scan the object with a certain moving speed to obtain the surface area and the object’s height, so as to obtain the volume. The results of the two methods can meet the volumetric accuracy requirements in the logistics industry.
