Abstract

Combined biofilters system was developed to purify a polluted urban lake. The operation characteristic s of the system was investigated from January 20 11 to Aril 2 01 3 . The inflow contained 8. 0- 39.8 mg /L SS, 35.4- 64.9 mg/L COD, 0.25- 4.01 mg/L NH 4 – N, 1.26- 8.88 mg/L TN, 0.12- 0.27 mg/L T P . The results show ed that the average re moval efficiency of SS, COD , NH 4- N , TN, and TP were 54.1, 29.9, 24.3, 19.3, and 31.4%, respectively , were achieved . T he combined system show ed strong antishock load and provided a n option for the treatment of polluted urban lake s .
