Application of Fiber Reinforced PTFE Composites in the Field of Vibration Reduction
Abstract
In this paper, the glass fiber and carbon fiber reinforced PTFE are prepared, and the main mechanical properties and damping properties are tested. The test results show that both glass fiber and carbon fiber can decrease the tensile strength and elongation, increase the compressive strength, modulus of compression and damping loss factor. Then the reinforced PTFE composite material is coated on the surface of rolling bearing, and the absorption effect is tested. The results show that the absorption effect of PTFE filled with glass fiber is 17dB. The experimental results show that the PTFE materials with reasonable design can be applied in the field of vibration reduction.
