Two Winding Transformer Equivalent Model of Three Winding Transformers for MATPOWER

Abstract


MATPOWER is one of wide used authoriterative open source software of power flow calculation in the world. However, it only provides a model of the two-winding transformer thus limiting its application in power system with a three-winding transformer which is very popular in the power system. This paper proposes a method to convert three -winding transformer into a model with two-winding transformer structure. The effectiveness of treatment method has been proved through a case study of the power system.
