Abstract

Considering that the frequency band 77.5-78 GHz is allocated to the radio astronomy service on a secondary basis, and the World Radio communication Conference 2015 has allocated the frequency band 77.5-78 GHz to the radiolocation service for automotive radar applications on a primary basis. In this paper, the coexistence studies for the automotive radar with the radio astronomy service, is presented. The protection of the RAS may require additional measures in some countries, such as the definition of specific exclusion zones around RAS sites.
