A Novel Tool Path Generation Method Based on the Theory of Digital Copy
Abstract
In the porcelain denture manufacturing, obtaining the cutter location data is the primary step that drive NC machine to grind denture. Referring the method of copying manufacturing, this article introduced a novel cutter location data acquisition method. According to the method, used same shape probe with the grinding bur to scan a temporary mental denture along planned grinding tool path, then recorded the scanning data, namely the cutter location point following grinding porcelain denture. This article gave an experiment finally, scanned a metal molar and ground a porcelain block using the scanning data, and then obtained a perfect porcelain molar.
