Abstract

Hexafluoride, a kind of strong greenhouse gas, has a serious impact on climate, and it’s also known as a poisonous gas that can harm human health by decomposition reactions. Therefore, the measurement of SF6 concentration in the atmosphere is very important. In this paper, the authors designed a new SF6 detection device by photoacoustic spectrum technology. This new device has a higher sensitivity in detection with increasing the optical path of laser beams. In the photoacoustic pool, the authors designed a conical reflector which can reflect the light at an angle with the axes. And the light can spread at the total of the cavity. Therefore, it brings about two benefits. One is that the optical path is increased, and the other is that it can avoid local overheating. The authors also present an experiment result, which shows that this testing system is accurate, reliable and real- time on measurement SF6 concentration in the atmosphere.
