Pragmatic Language Testing and Its Application in Testing Oral Proficiency

Abstract

With the rapid development of pragmatics, many pragmatic theories have been applied to language testing. This paper presents a general introduction of some important pragmatic concepts and discuss the development of pragmatic language testing. Types of pragmatic oral test items and practical ways of evaluation are explored.
