Looking at the Attributes of Self from the Perspective of Self-reference Effect

Abstract

Through analyzing and generalizing a large number of studies on self-reference effect, the paper summarizes four attributes of self: the development and relativity of the concept of time and space of the self, the consciousness and plasticity of the mutual complement and interaction between the self and the external world. The definition of these four attributes provides a way for us to analyze the self-reference effect dialectically.
