Evaluation of Ecological and Environmental Benefits of Sea Utilization

Abstract

In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s marine economy, the value of the marine ecological environment has been paid more and more attention. Based on the concept of eco-environmental benefit, this paper analyzes the difference between marine ecological benefit and marine ecosystem service value, and discusses the necessity of evaluating marine ecological benefits from the perspective of comprehensive benefit, and an ecological benefit index is put forward. It is concluded that: ecological benefit of sea utilization is not equal to the value of marine ecosystem service. The concept of ecological benefit is better to be applied to determine the type sea utilization in marine spatial planning. Ecological benefit of sea utilization needs to be evaluated from the perspective of comprehensive benefits. Ecological benefit in different regions can be compared using the ecological benefit index from the perspective of comprehensive benefits.
